Terms & Conditions

BrightWorks Electrical Services

1. General

1.1 These Terms & Conditions apply to all electrical installation, repair, and maintenance work undertaken by BrightWorks Electrical Services.

1.2 By accepting a quotation or allowing work to commence, the client

agrees to these Terms & Conditions.

2. Quotations & Pricing

2.1 All quotations are valid for 30 days unless otherwise stated.

2.2 Prices are based on the information provided at the time of quoting. If additional issues or requirements arise during the work, the Company reserves the right to revise the quote.

2.3 Any changes or extra work requested by the Customer will be charged separately at the agreed rate.

3. Booking & Payment

3.1 A deposit may be required for materials or to secure a booking.

3.2 Full payment is due upon completion of work and receipt of invoice, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

3.3 Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate. 

3.4 Materials supplied remain the property of the Company until paid for in full 

4. Cancellations & Access

4.1 The Customer must ensure safe, reasonable access to the property and work areas.

4.2 If access is not possible or safe, the Company may postpone or cancel the visit and charge associated costs.

5. Scope of Work

5.1 The Company will carry out work as described in the quotation or agreed in writing.

5.2 The Company will comply with relevant UK regulations, including BS 7671 Wiring Regulations and Part P where applicable.

5.3 Any existing faults, unsafe wiring, or defects discovered during work will be reported to the Customer. Additional work required to correct such issues may incur extra costs.

6. Materials & Parts

6.1 All materials used will be suitable for their intended purpose and meet current standards.

6.2 If specific brands or materials are requested, the Customer must confirm this in writing prior to ordering.

6.3 Any unused materials remain the property of the Company unless paid for by the Customer.

7. Certification & Building Control

7.1 Where applicable, electrical installation certificates will be issued upon completion.

7.2 Work that requires notification to Building Control will be managed through the Company or relevant scheme provider. Perfect lighting system to meet your needs.

8. Warranty

8.1 The installation is guaranteed for 12 months from completion, unless otherwise stated.

8.2 Materials and products are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty only.

8.3 The warranty does not cover:

 

Misuse or accidental damage

Interference by third parties

Products supplied by the Customer

Wear-and-tear items such as lamps/bulbs

9. Liability

9.1 The Company holds appropriate Public Liability and Professional Indemnity insurance.

9.2 The Company is not responsible for:

Existing defects in the Customer’s electrical installation

Loss or damage arising from unavoidable power isolation

Damage to plaster, paint, décor, or finishes where unavoidable to complete the work

9.3 The Customer should ensure valuable or fragile items are removed from the work area.Regular electrical maintenance is essential to keep your system running efficiently and safely. We offer comprehensive maintenance services for all types of electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly.

10. Customer Responsibilities

10.1 The Customer must inform the Company of any known hazards (e.g., asbestos, structural issues). 

10.2 If hazardous materials are discovered, work may be paused until safe removal is arranged (at the Customer’s cost).

10.3 Pets, children, and other occupants must be kept away from the work area.

11. Timeframes & Delays

11.1 While the Company aims to complete work within estimated times, delays may occur due to supplier issues, weather, or unforeseen circumstances.

11.2 The Company is not liable for delays outside its control.

12. Complaints

 

12.1 Any concerns must be reported as soon as possible.

12.2 The Company will investigate and aim to resolve all complaints promptly and professionally.Regular electrical maintenance is essential to keep your system running efficiently and safely. We offer comprehensive maintenance services for all types of electrical systems to ensure they are functioning properly.

13. Governing Law

13.1 These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales.

13.2 Any disputes shall be handled in UK courts
